Hi all

Newb here with a fresh install of linuxlite 5.0. After installation, I tried to update software but got the following errors. I hope someone is able to help and guide me in the right direction to fix this. Many thanks.

I was using LinuxLite5 on VirtualBox on Windows. I had made a copy of the Linux Lite using Export Appliance (OVA file). I tried using that OVA file and I was able to get the machine as required. Now the issue is, My Windows host was having some issue and got crashed. I had to reinstall the Windows OS by formatting my hard drive. After Windows installation, I again installed Virtualbox and tried to install LinuxLite using the OVA file I created but I'm unable to use it. I used Import appliance and able to add the VM but when i try to run it doesn't load completely and get stuck in a blank screen for long time. If I click on Ctrl+Alt+End then it shows failed to Load.... most of the things. And sometimes I get a black screen with [InitRAMFS] screen and nothing happens. I tried to use fsck commands by doing some google search but no luck.

I haven't been able to record in Audacity, after the update to 5.0. It's not that important for me, I'm just interested to know, if the application works for you.

just installed Lite 5 and it's working perfectly, so happy with it. But maybe not so happy with myself I have a new TechlyI-Card Cam-USB2TY which for the life of me I can't install. I can't run the mini cd installation disc beyond putting the files into a folder and the driver from the website I do not know how to open.
Grateful for any help...

I recently added a 2 TB drive strictly to hold VirtualBox images.    For some reason the drive is not mounting automatically though I have it set to automount (at least I believe I have).

Anyway, the workaround is to mount when the desktop loads but that is annoying.

Any suggestions?

Speakers suddenly quit. Installed new speakers and still cannot get any sound. I've attached a system report. Please advise.

I saw last year's thread about zoom but that's not helping in my case, if only because I'm a beginner at all this! I downloaded zoom for Ubuntu, eta al., but then I just have a zip folder to extract from and I don't understand what to do from there. I also tried installing from terminal, but I get this message:

E: Unsupported file ./zoom_amd64.deb given on commandline

I use FBReader a great deal and I have the version 0.12.10dfsg2-4bu installed from the repository.
When reading an epub book the application inserts a hyphen after every word before the space.
No amount of fiddling with the settings changes this.
I have a similar setup on a Satellite Pro running MX and FBReader (version 0.12.10dfsg2-3) renders the text perfectly.
My old 32bit D420 runs Lite 3.8 and FBReader works as it should.
I've just learned that the developer no longer supports Linux and that version 12 is old software, I've also read that Ubuntu 20 has dropped qt4 which may explain something.
Has anyone else experienced this?
