  My Customized Linux Lite 2.8
Posted by: avj - 02-05-2016, 12:24 AM - Forum: Screenshots - Replies (10)

This is a couple of screenshot of the customization I made to LL 2.8.

The icon set used is available at the following link.
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/W...ent=158155

The following small image is a transparent .png graphic I made that I use as the background for the panel, it will work for panels up to 64 in size. For the menu I set the opacity to 25%.

The wallpaper is the last wallpaper I suggested in the thread at the following link.
https://mityer.khdlhfjijfrupr.tk/forums/wallp.../#msg20029

The theme used is Adwaita Graphene,  Available at:

  Linux Lite 2.8
Posted by: Glenn - 02-04-2016, 06:52 PM - Forum: Screenshots - Replies (2)

Hello everyone, hope I've posted this in the correct place.

Thought I'd share my daily driver, Linux Lite 2.8 installed upon my Lenovo Ideapad.

LVDS
[Image: VGA.th.png]
VGA
[Image: Whiskermenu.th.png]
Whisker Menu

Whisker theme and conkyrc are my own. I love the provided feather backgrounds and tried to catch the colors of the feather on VGA background and match them within conky.

GTK is Zukitwo-Dark-Reloaded

Icon set is Menda-Circle (The set's quite large & has a somewhat "material design" aspect to it).

As I've said, it's my daily driver. I like to work from my LVDS to VGA and have set up my panel, it's indicators and the menu accordingly.

It's not mind blowing or overly dramatic but I come from using either Openbox or i3 and like my systems left light, functional and minimal. Can't say enough about Linux Lite, absolutely in love with this system... Many thanks once again @Jerry!  Smile

I don't have idea if this section is the best place to publish this, but I only want to post this pic.

It's a classroom for primary education. The kids learn libreoffice, webbrowsing, etc

  LL is interesting
Posted by: LinuxNoob - 02-02-2016, 05:18 AM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (3)

To my brother. Talk about a windows die hard. Well not really. He's been watching me distro hop for years now and after telling him what windows has been up to he feels a bit concerned.

So I had my LL 2.6v  on a thumb drive made with the system back utility and we tried it on his laptop that he uses windows 7 on. He was pleasantly surprised how fast it booted. However the one thing he thought he needed windows for was to do his UFile taxes.

After using wine and installing it and worked he is seriously thinking about trying LL. Did I mention he's real CHEAP! haha  So in my opinion if he can do it then anyone can.

So in a few weeks (in his own due time) don't want it to be only my idea why he's using LL, we will be doing an install.

Should be fun. We'll convert the world one brother at a time right? haha

Cheers!

I'll keep anyone here interested updated on how things go.......
