  Accesing python
Posted by: jola - 09-15-2015, 10:54 PM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (13)

Hello, I do not know how to make python accessible/active. I would like to place it into my main menu of programs, but how do I do this?
Sorry if this is not clear enough, I am new to Linux & appreciate any help & education.

Thanks, jola

Sorry, I left (but bounded to come back someday)

Sorry, I left (but bounded to come back someday).  I booted LL 2.6 and wifi didn't work OOTB - I know, I know, add the driver - and got lazy and booted up + installed Korora 22.
LL is a great distro - you are bounded to see me again as I tend to distro-hop every year or so.

Wifi Adapater finds my network but does not connect
Posted by: linuxdummy - 09-15-2015, 12:46 AM - Forum: Network - Replies (1)

Hi,

Grretings from Rio.

I´m very new to Linux (just installed it). I´m having trouble using WiFi.

I do detect my network (the SSID appears between the available connections), i even enter my password, but that´s it. The system "loops" asking for the password over and over again and does not connect, unless I use the cable.

I´m using Windows 7 right now, because i´m also having trouble with my keyboard when using Linux Lite (but i will leave it to another topic)

My wi fi adapter is Realtek RTL8187B

The notebook is  CCE Win Series ( dont even know if these are sold abroad)

You probably need more than that to help me, right?

Well, I tried. Sorry for the bad English and thanks in advance.

AMD vs NVIDIA proprietary drivers performance?
Posted by: Zead - 09-13-2015, 04:33 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (2)

So what's the situation on the performance between AMD and NVIDIA with proprietary drivers?

I've heard that NVIDIA drivers are better on GNU/Linux than AMD drivers. (In performance etc...) But these were years old articles. So what's the situation in 2015? Are the AMD drivers on par with NVIDIA drivers now? Or are AMD drivers getting better atleast?

Thanks.
