This is a neat feature in Firefox which allows you to search using keywords.
If I want to search for nvidia. I just type in ll nvidia in the url bar and I get the results.

Open this url: https://mityer.khdlhfjijfrupr.tk/forums/index...ion=search
Right-click On the search bar and select Add a Keyword for this Search

When a dialog opens set change the name to:
Search Linux Lite Forums
Now, set the Keyword to LL or ll or anything you like. I thing it should be simple, for example two letters.
ll
Leave the Folder as it is (Bookmarks Menu) because you don't need it in the toolbar.
Click Save.
Now when you type 'll nvidia' and press enter in the url bar you will automatically search the forum.
ll nvidia
ll jerry
This can be done with google,yahoo, etc. I've set gg for google and yy for yahoo.

Really enjoying Linux Lite. I have been using it for about a year now and first installed it, because I was looking for an easy system that would work well for an elderly friend. I liked Linux Lite so much that I kept it and I have also installed it on 4 friends computers, and all of them have had a very good experience with it.
I have been a Linux user for more than 10 years, and my first really successful system was Debian. I moved to Linux not long after Windows XP arrived and I found it was too much of a resource hog on my Windows ME vintage computer that I bought in Jan 2001. Thanks to various Linux systems that computer was in regular use until only a couple of months ago, but I have finally pensioned it off because the Power button is now so worn that it is difficult to start! My current computer is about 6 years old and I was using Archlinux as my primary system until falling in love with Linux Lite!
I find Virtual Box an invaluable tool. When helping friends with sick Windows computers I would run Windows XP (my legit paid for copy!) in Virtual Box to help me think of solutions. I run the 64 bit version of Linux Lite, but I also run a 32 bit install of Archlinux in Virtual Box so that I can use a "problem" glaze software programme that needs some 32 bit libraries that Ubuntu don't have any more.
I also use Wine for Il2 Sturmovik 1946 (a wonderful flight sim), and have wine happily running a 32 bit environment for this game. Very clever of wine to be able to do that on a 64 bit system I think!
I am really impressed with the usability of Linux Lite. I like it that Libreoffice, Wine, and Gimp are kept up to date. Xfce is also really nicely presented by this distro. Some wrongly claim that this is simply a rebranded xubuntu, but Linux Lite works so much better for me, and I like the default selection of applications better too.
Sincere Thanks to all of you who make Linux Lite possible.

XFCE Power Manager settings seem to be ignored

Hey, yeah i'm having a problem with the XFCE Power Manager.
Under the settings Monitor: "Put display to sleep when computer is inactive for" and "Switch off display when computer is inactive for"
I have them both set to never but the laptop screen/display still goes off after 10 minutes, if the laptop hasn't been touch. If I set it to 1 minute, it works fine it switches off after 1 minute but if i set them both to never or 60 minutes then the laptop screen/display still switches off after 10 minutes.
It's very annoying when watching a video on youtube or a movie and then the screen/display goes off and i have to move the mouse to turn the display back on.
If anyone could help thanks.

Hello there!
I'm using a Microsoft Wireless 2000 Keyboard and noticed, that the Music Buttons on top doesn't seem to work with Tomahawk or Rythmbox.
Is it possible to activate this feature?

[SOLVED] Cannot Boot After Update

I'm using V.2.2, 32-bit on a Dell Optiplex GX520 with an Intel videocard. A few minutes ago I installed updates as instructed by the Muon updater. After that, Linux-Lite wouldn't boot completely: I get to the point where the screen blanks and I should get the pointer, followed by the desktop. All I get is a blank screen.
Is there a fix, or did I do something wrong? Linux-Lite is a fast, efficient system, and I'd like to continue using it.

In Linux Lite 2.2 64 bit iBus has weird extra layouts that seem unnecessary

Hello
The version of Linux Lite is 2.2 64 bit.
First some information on how I use iBus on my system.
I use an Estonian keyboard layout.
iBus seams to insist on leaving English permanently there although I don't use it as my layout of choice.
So it kind of has quadrupled the English part after I added the Estonian layout to it (and changed to Estonian as the default in iBus).
http://imgur.com/5HD4JXa
Any suggestions on how to remove those unnecessary English layouts?
Thank you in advance,
vaikus84

Hello Linux Lite Gurus
So I installed the latest Dropbox that there is when currently posting this issue.
The first time starting after the install all was fine and I saw the Dropbox icon on the Panel.
A few restarts later the Dropbox Icon was gone. But when I look at Task Manager the application is running like it should.
Any ideas why this is happening and is there a fix for this disappeared Dropbox Icon?
Thank you in advance,

Window border issue with Lite Cleaner when compton enabled

Hello Linux Lite devs
Discovered an "Lite Cleaner" issue when using compton compositor.
http://imgur.com/rw3R8gh
I'm using this compton configuration: ( any suggestion from compton gurus? )
Code: backend = "glx";
paint-on-overlay = true;
glx-no-stencil = true;
glx-no-rebind-pixmap = true;
vsync = "opengl-swc";
# These are important. The first one enables the opengl backend. The last one is the vsync method. Depending on the driver you might need to use a different method.
# The other options are smaller performance tweaks that work well in most cases.
# You can find the rest of the options here: https://github.com/chjj/compton/wiki/perf-guide, and here: https://github.com/chjj/compton/wiki/vsync-guide
# Shadow
shadow = true; # Enabled client-side shadows on windows.
no-dock-shadow = true; # Avoid drawing shadows on dock/panel windows.
no-dnd-shadow = true; # Don't draw shadows on DND windows.
clear-shadow = true; # Zero the part of the shadow's mask behind the window (experimental).
shadow-radius = 7; # The blur radius for shadows. (default 12)
shadow-offset-x = -7; # The left offset for shadows. (default -15)
shadow-offset-y = -7; # The top offset for shadows. (default -15)
shadow-exclude = [
"! name~=''",
"n:e:Notification",
"n:e:Plank",
"n:e:Docky",
"g:e:Synapse",
"g:e:Kupfer",
"g:e:Conky",
"n:w:*Firefox*",
"n:w:*Chrome*",
"n:w:*Chromium*",
"class_g ?= 'Notify-osd'",
"class_g ?= 'Cairo-dock'",
"class_g ?= 'Xfce4-notifyd'",
"class_g ?= 'Xfce4-power-manager'"
];
# The shadow exclude options are helpful if you have shadows enabled. Due to the way compton draws its shadows, certain applications will have visual glitches
# (most applications are fine, only apps that do weird things with xshapes or argb are affected).
# This list includes all the affected apps I found in my testing. The "! name~=''" part excludes shadows on any "Unknown" windows, this prevents a visual glitch with the XFWM alt tab switcher.
# Fading
fading = true; # Fade windows during opacity changes.
fade-delta = 4; # The time between steps in a fade in milliseconds. (default 10).
fade-in-step = 0.03; # Opacity change between steps while fading in. (default 0.028).
fade-out-step = 0.03; # Opacity change between steps while fading out. (default 0.03).
#no-fading-openclose = true; # Fade windows in/out when opening/closing
detect-client-opacity = true; # This prevents opacity being ignored for some apps. For example without this enabled my xfce4-notifyd is 100% opacity no matter what.
# Window type settings
wintypes:
{
tooltip = { fade = true; shadow = false; };
};
Thank you in advance,
vaikus84
