Series 8 development News thread - valtam - 10-30-2025 Will just bullet point each bit of news. - New ISO size should be around 2.6gb This is between 200MB - 800MB smaller then most of the Top 10 Distrowatch distributions. - New theme (and possibly icon set) to be announced. Using GTK4 where possible, including Lite apps. - Memory usage is around 800mb in a VM, will be a lot less on real hardware. - Firefox (via PPA) will replace Chrome. I believe that having Chrome in Series 7x has hurt us going from what I have read online. - Btop will replace Htop. Alpha experiments:
