If you are really wanting Windows 10 it's worth trying imo regardless of the outcome.

I don't like Windows OS - one of the main reasons is its security flaws (particularly in Win10) that Quidsup has described in detail on his YouTube channel. I have dual-booted LL with Win8.1, only because it allows me to do things that are very tricky or impossible to do in Linux, e.g. my daughter loves playing Roblox - there isn't any Linux version of this game.

Gee I wish I could wiggle my nose and have this issue (too many older laptop computers) available to me IN South Africa while I'm there! 

I agree, if people unfamiliar with Linux realized what their old computers could do running Linux they might have a much longer life with them.  It's a shame to see what people get rid of although on the other hand it allows them to pass them along to me to "live another life" in South Africa   Now physically getting them there is another issue since there is only so much luggage space, at least my husband has stopped complaining about both the weight and how many I am packing  ;D

At the help center I work with, I often see a bunch of famillies get together and arrange for a container to be shipped to South Africa.
Don't know if it's feasible for you guys but it looks like a good idea. But, maybe it's complicated legal-wise... I dunno I've never done it myself. :-S
Imagine how many computers you could put in there ).
