Thunderbird audio notification not consistent

Hi, guys,I have emails that are important coming in, so I need audio notification. I'm using Thunderbird which I really like. I have a .wave file in Preferences under Incoming Mails. It plays sometimes, not all the time, which is annoying. I need immediate notification for some emails. I have visual notifications that work too, but I notice that even that doesn't work along with the audio sometimes. What can be done about that? Karen
*I just found online that people were having the same trouble. They suggested a few add-ons. One that worked for me is Mailbox Alert. Works great now! I went back in preferences under Incoming Mails and unchecked the boxes there. Mailbox Alert does it for you.
