grub-efi-amd64-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit
#11
Quote:So does that mean that any future package update I should worry about, because the system will install them anyway?
For this message only - retry the update/upgrade process and post back in your original thread.

Updating and upgrading is a complex business and works remarkably well most of the time.
However all error messages should be treated individually.

The message you have reported your original thread was previously reported by users doing their first upgrade of a new 7.4 installation.  After some investigation the cause appears to be one of the commands being run by the update/upgrade sequence unexpectedly requesting user intervention.  Behind the scenes, in this case, it appears that the update/upgrade completes despite the message.

Quote:Coming from Windows, I'm not familiar, and do not understand the GRUB/bootloader and where it is situated/installed.
Any questions please ask.

I don't quit get the knack of posting in the forum. When posting a problem for help, should I always post them in my User CP? Because it seems I don't post in the appropriate Thread section.

Try browsing the forum first and check in sections/sub sections for threads similar to your query/problem.

If you are having problems with updates, then the 'Updates' sub section under 'Software - Support' would be a reasonable place to start looking. Read any similar reports - you may find a solution already written up or at least confirm you're looking in the right area.

If you don't find an exact match, start a new thread in the closest sub-section by clicking 'Post Thread'
Each sub-section has a brief description about what is in there but some problems are not easy to categorise.
If you post in 'wrong' sub-section, it is not a problem. The post may get moved if a moderator considers it is in the wrong place.
