Computer freezing at login page, won't complete boot

Have you tried key combination "alt and F2" to access a console, from there you should be able to login.

If you can do this I would remove firefox with

Code:

sudo apt remove firefox

(you can always reinstall once the problem is solved)

then

Code:

sudo shutdown -r now

to reboot.
