Well, The Compaq CQ 57 SD card slot has the same problem of not being recognized as I posted earlier with the 3.15 kernel when I tried it on this laptop.

I made a text file while in 3.17 kernel. Then rebooted into 3.13. Hence why both readouts are doubled together in code tags.
So I will be un-installing the 3.17 after I post this. So for future testers. Always keep a good working backup kernel and test everything 1st before deleting old kernel.

Otherwise Valtam. This 3.17 works pretty good on this Compaq.

I created a second version of LL v2.0 on another partition (deployed from Clonezilla image of the original version) and then installed kernel v3.17.0. Everything works like a charm. Here is the output from inxi -Fxz:

Installed 3.17 on this Dell E5500. This SSD drive has tested the other kernels on the Compaq CQ 57 and the Compaq showed no love for the kernels 3.15 on up. Same on Dell XT2 Touchscreen Laptop. Here is hoping there is some love coming from this Dell E5500.
I will be testing this and putting the kernel through it paces later.

It is always a good sign when no kernel panic kicks on on older gear.  Big Grin

Jerry, I need at least 3.17 so that my touchpad works. Do you recommend I wait for you to add the necessary modules to the custom kernel or should I install the latest from mainline?

You can try 3.17 from the LL repo.
