Hello people
I had a problem connecting to the windows network, when I put smb: // ipaddressofwindowspc throws me:
Can not open "file system"
Failed to retrieve list of shared folders on server: Connection refused.
The strange thing is that, before updating my linux lite detected it and then no. :'(

| How to select level of updates |

I've been searching for some way to select the level of updates that are installed. I really hate to bring Linux Mint into the discussion again, but unfortunately that's what I had been using for a long while before Lite. With Mint you could easily select from level 1 to level 5 updates and also decide whether to display the updates you didn't want to install.
In Synaptic, under Settings > Repositories, I found the Updates screen with three options. I noticed the third option states, "Unsupported Updates". Should that box be checked, or should I uncheck it to insure I don't accidentally bork my install. Running Mint I only installed Levels 1, 2, and 3.

Having noted the final edition of Linux Lite 3.4 has been announced, I also saw a reference in Softpedia.com on July 3rd, that Lite can have the latest kernel installed. My question, is the latest kernel 4.12 a part of this final edition?

| Launcher to install new updates |

I know this can be done, but I've got a real mental block for some reason. What I want to do is create a Menu item and then also a Launcher to install new updates. I normally just open Synaptic, reload package info, then mark all upgrades and apply. No problem for me. However, that's more than my wife is comfortable with so I decided to just create a Menu item and a Launcher. But I can't for the life of me remember how to do it and I can't seem to find directions here in the forum or via a 'Net search. I'm brain dead. I can't even enter the right search words to locate what I want to do. Can somebody help me out? Thanks.
