so well I got my first real problem, I was just messing with some old harddrive to see if linux culdt maybe repare it, But as noob I am in Linux, as sloppy I was and deleted a HD pation.

I was like: Ill fix it with my boot USB but as really new to linux, it was not that easy, sooo.. I'm on Windows now

My real problem was when I try to boot on my linux USB it just started windows... Lol by now I dont know computers anymore  :'(

I've been testing out both Linux Mint and Linux Lite out.  I have 4 different Mints (xfce, kde, cinnamon, and mate)  Then Linux Lite was installed last.  But one day I was doing some full updates on my Linux Mint Xfce and it took over the Grub.  I tried this to fix it:  https://mityer.khdlhfjijfrupr.tk/forums/sugge.../#msg13969  It at least got things working "good enough" to use the machine.  Today I decided to update all of the OSes.  And I knew they would take over the Grub.  I thought it was interesting that when Mint xfce took over the entries were fixed.  But once I turned it back over to the Linux Lite, all the entries got messed up again.

I'm not reporting the fact that Linux Lite grub has been altered:

This is not a bug, so please don't report it as such. Grub is deliberately altered so that folks who dual boot with Windows will recognise Linux Lite in the Grub menu. This has been explained already. Cheers."

I'm reporting that the way I found to fix this problem:  https://mityer.khdlhfjijfrupr.tk/forums/sugge.../#msg13969  Made a mess of the Grub entries, and simply running sudo update-grub doesn't fix it.  Here is what my current grub menu looks like.  It especially messed up my Linux Mint 18 xfce Install on sda1.  It doesn't seem to start up with Systemd anymore, and it displays a bunch of start up text.  Which the start up text is ok for me, but I know this is not the way the distro is intended to do.  Also I think there might be some other problems as a result as well. *If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it please let me know.

My wife chose the "Clearlooks" style and the Faenza icon theme from the Appearance app.

However, certain apps, including not only downloaded ones such as Google Chrome and Evolution, but even built-in apps such as VLC, don't have the window widgets, scrollbars, etc look the Clearlooks style calls for.

How can I ensure a consistent look across all apps in the system?

My wife's PC takes several seconds to suspend.  Then when told to wake, such as by tapping the spacebar or clicking a touchpad button, the PC reboots.

Her PC is a Sony VAIO PCG-61411L or a VPCCW29GX (Sony seems to use two different nomenclature systems).

Its only OS is the latest LL 3.2 with the 4.4.0-59-generic x86-64 kernel.  It has 8GB of RAM, and the CPU is Intel Core i3 330M at 2.13GHz.  The video card is an nVidia GeForce 310M 3838MB maximum graphics memory.

Im still a noob in this, I replaced vista with 2.8 now im trying to get 3.2 completed. The problem i'm having is it crashes on the very last step when i try to fill in my name . If i have to use Gparted to correct this how does one install this program in linux and is there any commands i have to type into the terminal? I installed using usb.

Does this all have to be done on the live mode that its already set on? :-\ 

I find this feature in Lite tweaks for 3.2 extremely useful.
Is there a way I could install  it on 2.8 (32 bit) which I run on an ancient Dell netbook with an Atom processor?
I would prefer not to have to put 3.2 on there if I can avoid it, but as it is at the limit for memory (1 gb ram) the Clear memory tweak might be very useful..
