Buying a USB wifi adapter can be confusing. Many are often not what they advertise. Over the years I have refurbished and repaired literally thousands of computers, both Linux and Windows, with or without onboard wifi NIC’s. For the last five years or so I have found what I believe to be the most reliably cross platform USB wifi adapters available and I highly recommend them. I cannot recall ever not being able to connect to my office wifi with any computer I was repairing. If you are having difficulty with wifi connections get a Panda wireless USB wifi adapter. They have a website and are distributed by Panther in the US and sold by Amazon for around $15 to $25 US. I am currently connected at 144Mbs on a five year old one. I have two six years old that I keep around the office for plugging into computers I repair or refurbish. I have had several and never had a failure. It is a fine product pretty much plug and surf for Debian, Ubuntu flavors like Linux Lite, Kali with monitor function, BSD, Slack Slax Porteus etc., and Windows, and I have yet to have to load the Windows drivers on machines that have come through the office. Excellent reliable easy to use product.

| Suggestion: Enable window snapping by default |

Currently, by default, if you drag a window to the left or right, it will move to the next workspace. When I was newer to Linux Lite, to avoid this default behavior, I just dropped the number of workspaces from 2 to 1 and window snapping worked in that singular workspace. Later, I figured out how to keep the two workspaces and still have window snapping. For that, I had to do two things.
1) In the Advanced tab of the Window Manager, I had to uncheck "With a dragged window"
2) In the Accessibility tab of Window Manager Tweaks, I had to check:
a) "Automatically tile windows when..." and
b) "Use edge resistance instead of..."
I think this should be enabled by default.

Hi. I am brand new to Linux, but loving Linux Lite. I took ages getting things set up, and decided to disable the username and password on login. I even have the wireless printer working, but now I am needing to install updates, and it says I need a "password to perform administrative tasks". Is there any way I can find this without a total reinstall? I had written down the password but can't find it.Thanks.

Having successfully installed Linux Lite, I am trying to install Irfan View following the instructions on this site:http://www.boekhoff.info/?pid=linux&tip=install-irfan-view-on-linux
I have copied the .dll file to a flash drive, but I don't know how to copy it to the directory he specifies. I am very new to linux and terminal averse, but I'd appreciate any suggestions how I can complete this process.

Hello, I am new to Linux and Linux Lite is my first Linux experience.
I am having a problem downloading the updates for Linux Lite, when my computer is about half finished downloading the updates it stops and flashes the error message of "couldn't fetch the package cache information lists." How do I get it to continue the download, so it can update?
Thanks.
