Installing OpenOffice 4.1.3 on 3.4 ?

I am trying to install OpenOffice 4.1.3 myself to LL 3.4. I have also removed Libre Office and have downloaded the Deb files for OO.
My goal is to support OO rather than LO. But I followed the instructions on the site to install and it is not working.
The instructions to install are:
Installing
The software is installed using the dpkg -i command.
1. Login as root or from the GUI, open a root terminal.
2. Type the following command, to install the software:
dpkg -i -–force-overwrite openoffice.org*.deb \
desktop-integration/openoffice.org-debian-menus*.deb
But it does not work. Any ideas?

I don't know how much hassle this might be, but I was thinking:
To raise funds to further support the project, maybe y'all could sell @linuxliteos.com e-mail addresses to fanboys (and fangirls) like me! Even if they were just forwarding aliases, it would be a cool fun way to promote Linux Lite and raise money for the project.
They did this at another site to help pay for their huge repository of cue sheets and dance videos for folk dancers and instructors. It was just a forwarding alias rather than a full-service IMAP or POP / SMTP service, but it still raised a bunch of money for them. And it's more pleasant than "would you like to date me" ads like the ones that appear here. I don't use AdBlocker on this site because I know the ads help financially, but it's supposed to be a family-friendly forum and those ads kinda border on "not so family friendly" and may be a turn-off to parents of kids using LL.
Just a random idea from a random boy, but I hope you'll consider it.

Thunar - renaming files and folders

Today I found out (by chance, after having used thunar for a long time :o) how easy it can be to rename files and folders.
Until today I opened thunar as a file manager and the thunar bulk rename tool. Via drag and drop I "copied" the files from the manager to the tool.
It always annoyed me that the window for the files was very small (for instance when renaming tons of pictures).
I wanted to rename one single file today and pressed F2. By accident two files where marked and the bulk rename tool popped up. No drag and drop necessary and much quicker!
Cool!

LX Terminal 0.2.0 will not remember change in font size

Before a recent update I used to be able to open LXTerminal then go to Preferences and then the Style tab and change the Terminal font to a much larger size than Monospace 10. Previously I would change the font size to about 18 and when I restarted LXTerminal the next time, it would remember the font size of 18. Now a restart and I get that same very small font size of 10.
A much larger font size makes it much easier on the eyes.
Anybody have any solutions?

I have a tv music video from which I would like to extract the soundtrack and convert to flac.
I believe I can convert the mp4 to flac using vlc
a) I have installed flac from synaptic.
b) opening vlc and clicking on media/convert I have added the mp4 file I am interested in.
c) Clicking on convert/save select convert I have chose flac from the profile option.
d) From Destination for the converted file all I get is a .ts file option
Any advice as to what I am doing wrong appreciated. Tks

I've read through probably 8 posts on this specific issue, but the solutions are usually specific to certain drivers.
I'm using some super-old hardware, which might be an issue. Here's some info:

Hello, I have a little problem. I installed Terminator and as soon as I did it Lxterminal stopped working. What I mean I cannot invoke it from the menu or by clicking on the icon on my panel. It simply does nothing. The only way I can do it is through another terminal. Does anybody know how to fix it, please. I apologize if it has been already covered but I couldn't find the subject in the 'search' option.

Windows Store to distribute Linux

Hello,
I had a Google news to my phone of a post from
https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/...build-2017
It discusses how Microsoft have decided to distribute Ubuntu, SUSE Linux, and Fedora, from the Windows store.
Saying this will - make it easy to run Linux apps, from within any Windows 10 device. It will use virtualization.
My first thought was that this may increase awareness and users of Linux in the longer term as more Windows users will be trying it.
I then thought about how Windows 10s (and Creators update) will be more similar to Apple in being more closed and more proprietary by controlling what can be installed.
To that end it means in effect Microsoft will have some level of control over these Distros, at least where they are from the Windows store.
Looking at it from the recent announcement of Ubuntu and IPO, which Google says is where they sell shares ?
Are M$ making a first step towards buying out of Ubuntu business side via those shares ?
Also researching which Linux software they want to take control of as they will have all the stats of which apps users who download from the store have installed, and their usage levels of those apps, to gauge a popularity stats ?
Compared to previously where users could install virtualization and Distros themselves, does it also mean in that virtualization M$ will be blocking the installation of anything other than these 3 official Distros.
It is a worrying thought.
Overall it does also show M$ are feeling more threatened by Linux popularity, and open source software than they have previously admitted to.
